• Summary

This project aims at introducing a novel smart wearable glove that operates using two modes: assistive and passive rehabilitation modes. It will be actuated using soft robotics and a miniature pneumatic feedback system. This system will include sensors and a processor to control the five fingers simultaneously and, subsequently, system’s behavior. IoT will be integrated in the system to enable two-way data communication between the user and treating physiotherapist.
The glove may help patients with impaired hand motion secondary to weakness or paralysis as seen in patients with stroke or multiple sclerosis. This glove is designed to enable patients to move their hands and regain control over them during activities of daily living (ADL).
