Summary
Telemedicine technology is one of the approaches that fills many of the gaps in healthcare services in Egypt in the care of stroke. The project implements the "Treat & Teach" package developed by Ain Shams University Virtual Hospital that aims to link to hospitals deficient in neurology specialised medical care and help train general practitioners or internalists on how to care for stroke patients and implement the standardized care for best patient outcomes. This is coupled with telemedicine consultations that help patients receive specialized neurology care from specialists of Ain Shams University. The project aims to develop specialised software platform that helps these activities in a professional high quality care putting into consideration the ethical and legal issues as privacy of patient data.
