Summary
The project aims at increasing the awareness of climate change among the engineering students. It provides them with advanced non-polluting solutions for learning the possible ways in reducing the carbon footprint. The project significantly strengthen the existing partnership between Cardiff University and Ain Shams university by sharing advanced educational experiments.
The project also addresses the gap in technical expertise which leaders of community project groups typically have concerning the matter of renewable energy. Most community projects would prefer to operate in green, sustainable ways, but lack the expertise or understanding to spec renewable energy generation capacity for their operations. The Renewable Generation Guide will address this need.
This project will create sustainability-focused E-Learning resources for university students, to encourage the next generation of engineers to understand their role in mitigating climate change. It will also create a guide for affordable renewable energy generation for community projects, and establish a machine repair cafe event in Ain Shams University.
