Summary
Soil salinization is one of the most crucial environmental problems in Egypt due to its adverse effects on agricultural productivity and sustainable development. In this research, we will investigate the role of endophytes extracted from halophytic medicinal plants in conferring salt stress tolerance in some important medicinal plants such as Cuminum cyminum and Allium sativum .
metagenomics and different bioinformatics tools will be used in processing plant associated metagenomes with focus on endophytes with salt tolerance capability.
Then the variation in the gene expression between the enhanced plant and its wild type will be studied.
